Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 14 March 2025
These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the Krung Pillar website at {{DOMAIN_NAME}} and, together with the engagement letter issued at the commencement of any matter, set out the basis on which Krung Pillar provides legal services. Please read these terms carefully. By using our website or engaging our services, you agree to be bound by them.
1. About Krung Pillar
Krung Pillar is a legal services firm practising Thai family law and domestic relations, operating from 88 Langsuan Road, Lumpini, Pathumwan, Bangkok 10330, Thailand. References to "we", "us", and "our" in these terms refer to Krung Pillar. Our lawyers are members of the Thai Bar Association.
2. Website Use
The content on this website is provided for general informational purposes only. Nothing on this website constitutes legal advice, and no lawyer-client relationship is formed by visiting or using the website. You should not act on any information found here without seeking independent legal advice appropriate to your circumstances.
- You may use this website for lawful purposes only.
- You must not transmit any content that is unlawful, harmful, or infringes third-party rights.
- We reserve the right to withdraw, amend, or suspend access to the website at any time.
- We make reasonable efforts to ensure content is accurate and current but do not warrant its completeness or timeliness.
3. Legal Services Engagement
A lawyer-client relationship with Krung Pillar is only formed when both parties have executed a written engagement letter. Until that time, any communication between you and us — including through the website contact form, telephone, or email — does not constitute legal advice and does not establish a client relationship.
We reserve the right to decline to act in any matter, including where a conflict of interest exists or may arise, or where we do not have the appropriate expertise for the specific matter.
4. Fees and Payment
Our fee structure for each service is set out in the engagement letter. The indicative fees shown on our website represent the base fee for standard matters; additional complexity, disbursements, court filing fees, or registration charges may apply and will be communicated transparently before work proceeds.
- Fees are payable as set out in the engagement letter, typically with a portion due upon instruction.
- Disbursements (government fees, translation costs, court charges) are invoiced separately at cost.
- Invoices are payable within 14 days of issue unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- We do not accept payment in cash exceeding limits set by applicable Thai anti-money laundering regulations.
5. Scope of Services
Our services are limited to Thai family law matters as described in the engagement letter. We do not provide advice on foreign law unless expressly agreed in writing. Where a matter has cross-border dimensions, we may recommend that you also seek advice from a qualified lawyer in the relevant jurisdiction.
Advice provided is based on the information you supply to us and on Thai law as it stands at the time. Changes in law or the emergence of new facts after advice is given may require us to revise our position; we will notify you if this arises during an active engagement.
6. Client Obligations
To allow us to advise and act effectively on your behalf, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, complete, and timely information and documents as requested;
- Notify us promptly of any changes in your circumstances that may affect the matter;
- Respond to communications within the timeframes agreed at instruction;
- Not provide false or misleading information in connection with any legal matter.
We will not be responsible for delays or adverse outcomes arising from incomplete or inaccurate information provided by you.
7. Confidentiality
All information shared with us in connection with a legal matter is held in strict confidence. We will not disclose your information to third parties except as required to carry out the engagement (e.g. to the district office or a court), as required by Thai law, or with your explicit consent. Our confidentiality obligations survive the conclusion of any engagement.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, design, layout, and graphics — is the property of Krung Pillar or its licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content from this website for commercial purposes without prior written consent. Personal, non-commercial reference use is permitted.
Documents and legal work product prepared by us for your matter remain our intellectual property until fees are settled in full, at which point ownership transfers to you.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by Thai law, Krung Pillar's liability for any claim arising from or related to legal services is limited to the total fees paid by you for the specific matter to which the claim relates. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or speculative losses.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or any matter for which liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
10. Termination
Either party may terminate an engagement by giving reasonable written notice. We may terminate immediately if you provide false information, fail to pay fees as agreed, or act in a way that makes it impractical or ethically inappropriate for us to continue. On termination, fees for work completed to that point remain payable.
On conclusion or termination of any engagement, we will return original documents to you on request and retain copies in accordance with our data retention policy.
11. Complaints
If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our service, we encourage you to raise this with us directly in the first instance. Please write to us at complaints@{{DOMAIN_NAME}} or by post to our office address. We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days and respond substantively within 30 days.
If the matter is not resolved to your satisfaction, you may raise a complaint with the Thai Bar Association through their established professional conduct process.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. Any disputes arising from or related to these terms or our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Thai courts.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated date. For ongoing engagements, any material change to terms will be communicated to you directly. Your continued use of our website after a revision constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
